Finland's membership in NATO/ Blinken: This is a historic moment

The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, reacted after Finland's entry into the European Union.

Blinken said that this was a historic moment for the entire Alliance.

"It is truly a historic moment for the Alliance, for the Transatlantic Community, but also for the global community that strongly defends the basic principles of the UN Charter and strongly defends the security and stability of peace. This is indeed a historic day, because today we welcome Finland to the Alliance", said Blinken.

Reuters writes that Blinken also said that Russia's aggression has led many countries to believe that they must do more to protect themselves and ensure that they can deter potential Russian aggression in the future.
