The National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 has registered a total of 404 applications, of which 360 applications met the selection criteria and 280 applications are qualified.
The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR) told Monitor that 177 contracts have been signed with beneficiaries so far. The highest number of qualified applicants, according to AZHBR, is for investments in farm mechanization; construction of livestock stables and poultry breeding facilities; and construction of solar greenhouses.
The application process for the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 ended on November 8, 2024. Regarding the administrative control process, the deadline for submitting documentation was extended to February 28, 2025.
AZHBR claims that out of the total applications made, the highest was for farm mechanization. While the region with the highest interest in this scheme was Fier.
"The highest interest in applications was recorded for: Investments in farm mechanization, with 305 applications; Construction of livestock stables and poultry raising facilities, with 49 applications.
Meanwhile, applications for solar greenhouses and aquaculture have been more limited.
The regions with the highest demand for this scheme are Fier, Vlora, Berat and Korça, which reflect the interest of farmers in areas with agricultural and livestock traditions," AZHBR stated.
The Fund for the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024, made available from the Albanian Government budget, is 1.5 billion lek, with a 2-year extension.
500 million lek is planned to be disbursed for the first year. This fund will be disbursed in the form of grants of up to 50% of the value of the investment's tax receipts.
The scheme supports farmers' investments through 5 measures.
For the construction of solar greenhouses, financial support is 4-15 million lek/ha depending on the crop produced: strawberries, grapes, vegetables.
From 0.2 ha to 2 ha/subject, including installation of irrigation system.
Financial support is up to 15 million lek/ha for vegetable production greenhouses. Up to 8 million lek/ha for table grape production greenhouses. Up to 4 million lek/ha for strawberry production greenhouses.
For anti-hail nets 4-15 million lek/ha depending on the crop: strawberries, grapes, vegetables. Up to 1.5 million lek/ha for the protection of fruit trees, citrus trees and vineyards.
For halls and facilities with a capacity of no less than: 10 cows, 100 calves, 10 sows or 10 thousand poultry, up to 15 million lek.
For the purchase of tractors and equipment for the mechanization of work processes on agricultural and livestock farms, up to 5 million lek.
Support for marine aquaculture is for the purchase of nets and fish breeding cages, 50% of the total value of the tax invoice, up to 20 million lek/subject./ Monitor.al
