Construction of sidewalks in Ksamil and side fences, roads where interventions

The Municipality of Saranda will intervene on two streets in Ksamil regarding the construction of pedestrian sidewalks and the requalification of side fences.

In a procurement procedure opened this Friday, it is specified what the concrete interventions that will be made on these roads will be.

The first is the intervention on the “Lefter Talo – Sami Frashëri” road with a length of 1054 meters. According to the document, the road needs the construction of sidewalks and the requalification of the side fences on the internal roads, so there will be no demolition of the existing road.

"The project begins with expansions to create pedestrian access, where according to the work estimate, we will have excavation works, concrete structure works, transportation and collection of materials, as well as the arrangement of the area for the continuation of the next phase, which is the construction of retaining walls to create the necessary width of 1.5 m on each side of the road.

Next, we will have the works of the pavement layers according to the typical road profile, we will also have filling with gravel behind the retaining walls. After the completion of these works, we will have the construction of the surrounding walls h=70-90 cm according to the terrain, which will be covered with decorative stone slabs.

"A decorative iron grille with an average configuration with a rod diameter of 1 cm and a specific weight of 0.79 kg, placed every 15 cm, will also be placed on the wall," the document states.

The next street that will be intervened is "Ibrahim Rugova" at a length of 370 meters where the construction of sidewalks and the requalification of the side fences on the street will take place.

The project begins with expansions to create pedestrian crossing access.

The limit fund for the procedure is estimated at 74.9 million lek or about 750 thousand euros. The municipality argues this intervention as necessary to bring the roads of Ksamil, which is considered one of the most frequented and marketed destinations for its tourist potential, into suitable conditions./ Monitor
