CEFTA Advisory Body on Customs Cooperation meets in Tirana

The General Directorate of Customs welcomed in Tirana representatives from DG TAXUD and all CEFTA parties, at the first official meeting of the Advisory Body for Customs Cooperation on Tariff Classification and Rules of Origin.

In his opening remarks, Director General Genti Gazheli emphasized the importance of this moment for strengthening regional cooperation and approximation with European Union standards:

“ The creation of this Advisory Body is one of the most important achievements of the Albanian Presidency of CEFTA, helping to strengthen cooperation and create a more predictable environment for trade, ” he said.

The meeting marked the successful conclusion of the Albanian Presidency of CEFTA, during which important results were achieved in:

– Implementation of new rules of origin (PEM Convention)

– Mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO)

– Customs cooperation in e-commerce and digital data exchange through SEED+

– Expanding "Green Lanes" for faster movement of goods in the region and with the EU. /Monitor
