Actual budget for 2024/ Malaj: Local expenditures reached 74.4 billion lek

The Minister of Economy, Petrit Malaj, has presented the draft law "On the approval of the actual budget for 2024".

In his speech, the minister spoke about the financial management of local government, saying that positive indicators have been maintained over the past year.

Regarding domestic spending, Malaj stated that for 2024 they reached 74.4 billion lek, up from 68.8 billion in 2023.

Further, Malaj said that the government remains committed to its major objective, to stay as close as possible to Albanian citizens.

" The process of local government financial management continues. During 2024, positive indicators have been maintained. Local expenditures reached 74.4 billion lek, up from 68.8 billion lek, accounting for 3.1% of Gross Domestic Product or 10% in relation to public expenditures.

"From a macroeconomic and public debt perspective, they are the result of a series of measures undertaken by the government over the years as a result of reforms. Which has guaranteed safe incentives for economic growth. This government remains committed to its major objective, to stay closer to Albanian citizens ," Malaj declared./CNA
