Documents emerge/ Agim Ismaili sought incriminating materials against Ulsi Manja

Some new documents that have come to light from the SPAK wiretapping file bring unknowns regarding the former Director General of Prisons, Agim Ismaili.

According to communications extracted from wiretaps, it is suspected that Agim Ismaili attempted to obtain incriminating materials related to Socialist MP Ulsi Manja.

CNA has obtained some materials, which clearly implicate Ismaili in some SMS messages exchanged with Zambak Gjoni.

The latter is one of the defendants sent for trial by SPAK for hacking its information systems and is being tried under the security measure of "prison arrest".

From the communications it appears that Gjoni wrote to Ismaili that he had asked a friend of his to "dig" in SPAK regarding Manja, and Ismaili responded with a message that such a thing would be outrageous.

"Specifically, the text message of the suspect Zambak Gjoni, addressed to the citizen Agim Ismaili with the content: "I told this friend to dig in SPAK, there is nothing for Ulo" and the citizen Agim Ismaili responds: "aaaah, that would be awesome". Also of interest is the explanation of the suspect Zambak Gjoni regarding these documents: "I found a source in SPAK".

Agim Ismaili has appeared for the umpteenth time at the Special Prosecution Office and SPAK has sent him for trial on January 15, as a defendant together with Zambak Gjoni and Arnold Rrokaj.

The documents note that in communication with Gjoni, Ismaili insists on finding some material for Manja, with messages even in the late evening hours.

"Regarding the above, it is analyzed that the communication of the investigated Zambak Gjoni with the citizen Agim Ismaili also matches the communications of the investigated Zambak Gjoni with the investigated Arnold Rrokaj, since on 19.02.2025, at 17:51:56, the investigated Zambak Gjoni asks the investigated Arnold Rrokaj if: "Is there anything about the chair anywhere"... and a few hours later, at 21:27:54, he confirms to the citizen Agim Ismaili that he has ordered his friend to: "dig in the basement to see if there is anything about the chair", - the file states, among other things.

It is also a fact that Ismaili was interested in Ulsi Manja through Gjon, whom he constantly mentions under the pseudonym/abbreviation "Ulo".

In one of the communications, John replies that he "hasn't caught anything yet."

"From the communications of the investigated Zambak Gjoni with the citizen Agim Ismaili, it is learned that not only were these documents transmitted to the citizen Agim Ismaili, but that the latter, through the investigated Zambak Gjoni, requests that the receipt and search for documents continue for other persons, such as the citizen named "Ulo", a fact which is confirmed by the SMS of the citizen Agim Ismaili herself, dated 21.02.2025, at 09:58:15 that: "What about Ulo, is there anything", and the response of the investigated Zambak Gjoni that: "We haven't caught anything yet, damn it", - it is written in the document.

It is still unknown for what motives the data that Agim Ismaili would provide about Ulsi Manja would be needed or used.

Suspicion rightly arises in such cases, but also in the specific case that such incriminating materials could be used for political gain or to damage the public image of MP Manja.

However, the fact is that Ismaili has sought incriminating materials against Ulsi Manja, which is best evidenced by all the above details.

It is worth noting that Agim Ismaili was removed from his post by former Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja, after an inspection conducted by the Supreme State Audit Office at the General Directorate of Prisons and the recommendation was that Ismaili be removed. After the inspection by the Supreme State Audit Office, Ulsi Manja removed him and apparently, in order to take revenge, Agim Ismaili was looking for other materials against Ulsi Manja. /CNA
