CNA denounced/QKB terminates agreement with platform that disrupts competition

CNA denounced a few weeks ago an agreement signed between the National Business Center and the Institute of Fiscal Experts, raising concerns about the distribution of a free platform for use by businesses in the field of fiscalization and accounting.

The agreement envisaged the distribution of the SmartFin platform free of charge to businesses, an initiative that on the surface seemed like assistance, but which has raised suspicions of favoring a private company with institutional support.

CNA reported that offering the platform for free could create an unfair advantage for SmartFin, undermining licensed private operators that offered similar paid services.

The memorandum between the Central Bank and the IEF, although intended to help businesses, raised doubts about the disruption of free competition in the fiscalization market.

Without transparency, without equal criteria and without consultation with market operators, there was a risk that a platform supported by the Central Bank would be unfairly favored over licensed private operators offering the same services.

Following the CNA's denunciation, it is learned that the Central Bank has terminated the cooperation agreement with the entities in question.

The cooperation agreement of the Central Bank with the entity was terminated on November 27, 2025.

All this restores formality to the market and free competition./ CNA
