August 23 is "Black Ribbon Day", the official European Day of Remembrance of Nazi, Fascist, Communist and Stalinist crimes! The Council of Europe, bearing in mind the crimes committed by the dictatorships in the 20th century, decided that the dictatorships should be punished and their victims and barbarisms, the states that passed these dictatorships, should remember and not forget the crimes.
Fascist, Nazi dictatorship, after the end of World War II, Europe created the Nuremberg Tribunal to legally punish these crimes from 1948 onwards. Southeast Europe condemned the Stalinist dictatorship in 1956, while the communist dictatorship fell in 1988 with the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The only country in Europe, Albania, was ruled by Stalinism for 46 years, and did not condemn this murderous ideology, but moved from the Stalinist system to a pluralist system, without receiving the approval of the anti-communists, with an action that was not legal, but ideological, formal, that within 4 days the system was changed, and formal anti-communist parties were created with a clear objective:
"The non-punishment of the crimes of Enverist Albanian Stalinism!" By allowing the Albanian Labor Party that had committed crimes to be part of political pluralism by not legally punishing it for the violation of human rights and freedoms for 50 years against Albanian anti-communists.
And it's been three decades since the entire political class created on the 4th day of December '90, continued and continues the politicization and demagoguery against Enverism, but did not do any legal act to condemn the communist party and the Hitler of Southeast Europe, the Stalinist Enver Hoxha .
From November 29, 1944 until the so-called system change in '90, the balance of crimes of Enverist communism is an unimaginable balance for Europe after the Second World War for thousands of human lives lost. The anti-communist Albanians suffered 914,000 years in prison. Concentration camps were created where even children's lives were not spared, as in Tepelena, where over 350 children of anti-communists from the north died of hunger.
Which country in Europe has a crime record like Albania?!
August 23 unites the days and deaths of well-known personalities, Albanian resistance fighters who have given a lot for our freedom, state and national culture, but more than anything else for our historical dignity in defense of freedom, the flag and the nation.
This August 23, as the European Day of Remembrance, condemns the crimes of Albanian Stalinism and publicly denounces and makes responsible to the nation and society, the political class, the leaders of the institutions of the Albanian state of these three decades who did not condemn the crimes of communism.
Today, this day condemns the silence of politicians of all colors towards the communist crime. Albania, from a Stalinist dictatorship, was not able to build a state of law, because the political class did not follow the path of democratization of the country, but like a wolf kennel to build power with the dogma of communism. The political power during this 34-year period built a system of corruption, disrupting the balance of society with propaganda and using silence against the crimes of the dictatorship. As a country, we do not have a day of remembrance like Europe does. We are commemorating the European Day of Remembrance in years here in Koplik of Malësë Madhe, here where the first anti-communist rifle shot, led by the prominent men of Malësë Madhe, the Bajraktari of Hoti, Mulë Deli Bajraktari. The outstanding soldier and commander Llesh Marashi of Shkreli, the hero of the defense of the borders of the Albanian state, the legendary brave of Kelmendi, Preng Cali, who was killed in the act of betrayal by the treacherous, criminal Stalinist, Mehmet Shehu.
Here the Koplik Massacre was carried out by the Albanian communists, from July 28 to August 29, 1948, 56 men and women were tortured, where among these men and women, a mountain woman would give birth to her child amid the torture. Here the scientist Dom Aleksandër Sirdani, the son of the brave Boga, was tortured together with Dom Pjetër Cun, only because they did not deny God! They would torture the brave mountaineer, the anti-fascist and patriotic fighter, the man of the Highlands, Taro Keqi, the brave and invincible Catholic, Nik Mark Rexha. And after torture and barbaric murder, the bodies of these priests of faith and freedom, and the invincible braves of the Highlands, would be thrown into the sewer not far from this gathering that we are holding today in their honor.
The "Koplik massacre" does not forget, it remembers the executioners of the crimes of the massacre, it appeals to the Institution of the Authority to open the files of the former state security: When will you present the names of the executioners to the Albanian society and their criminal files that have committed crimes in Koplik and throughout Albania. Not far from yesterday, the German court sentenced a 17-year-old secretary of Nazism, even though she is 94 years old today. The new generation expects to recognize the executioners so that they do not allow the crime to be repeated. Eternal glory to these brave women and men, these heroic anti-communists, who did not stand up in the face of the barbarism of the criminals of the Albanian communist party. Today, Albania is longing for freedom and democracy, for dignity. Today Albanian society is divided into anti-communists and communists.
We anti-communists are the standard, the messengers of Europe with an indisputable dignity for Albanians. Communists are the part of hatred, rulers, despisers of values, docks, religion and national nobility. Albanian post-communist politics and the government in Albania have chosen silence and oblivion, becoming parties to the crime. Europe condemns the crime of the Albanian state, is silent about the crime.
His Holiness, Pope Francis, would host in the Vatican on October 25, 2023 the delegation of Albanian anti-communists and would pray for the lost souls and the centuries-old suffering of anti-communists in the Stalinist dictatorship.
The opposite happens with the President of the Albanian state, with the speaker of the Parliament, with the head of the government, they hate the anti-communists, make hypocrisy with the memory and have built a governing and media system to disappear from the memory the crimes of Enver Hoxha.
Today, from Koplik, massacred by the communist regime, from the anti-communist Malësia e Madhe, I address the leaders of the Albanian state: When will you punish the crimes of Albanian Stalinism by law like all of Europe. You have been silent for 6 months in front of the request of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, the request attached to the Episcopal Conference and the three Muslim, Bektashi, Orthodox religious communities, as well as the National Resolution of the Nationwide Union for the Integration of Prisoners and the Politically Persecuted of Albania.
Democracy cannot be built without punishing communist crime. When will the Albanian political parties apologize to the Albanians for the crimes of communism? Mr. President, Mrs. Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Prime Minister, when will you apologize to the Albanian families who endured the crimes of Enver Stalinism?
Your silence is a criminal act, and a violation of human rights and freedoms against Albanians who suffered over 9 centuries of imprisonment and exile, of over 6,000 families who have not found the remains of the missing for three decades. How can you be calm, leaders of the state, where your compatriots do not have a grave for their families, where thanks to their resistance, you today enjoy the benefits and staggering wealth of the system for which the Albanian anti-communists sacrificed themselves. You who were party to the dictatorship and applauded our imprisonments and murders, without making any contribution to the punishment of the dictatorship, and you remain silent and despise our superhuman sacrifices.
If you choose silence as the leader of the state, we will denounce you all the way to Strasbourg for violence and contempt for the human rights and freedoms of 100,000 Albanian families who faced the dictatorship.
Why has the opposition joined the chorus of power owls with silence towards our request to punish the communist crime by law. The opposition is not only fighting to take power, but to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens that are violated by the government. It is a national shame that 59 MPs of the opposition, who have received the vote of the Albanian anti-communists for 34 years, have been silent for 6 months as the majority against the request to condemn the crimes of communism as a country that seeks to become part of Europe. You cannot go to Europe without condemning the crimes of communism.
Today, this European Day of Remembrance forces the scalpel of justice to be inserted deep into the conscience to find the remains of the missing. The day of memory of Albanians should be set as a matter of urgency, as Europe does. Today, this day requires the erection in Tirana of the wall of memory for the 6,000 disappeared of communism in front of the Pyramid of the Albanian dictator.
The task of the Albanian state is to show the truth of the communist crime to the generations who do not know it. Albanian justice should legally penalize the perpetrators of the killers, and the memory should be kept as sacred to the martyrs and the disappeared. The literature of anti-communists should be included in the school curricula and the crimes of Enverism should become a presence. If we join the silence of politics towards memory, it would constitute one of the greatest shames in our national history. It would be an indelible stain on all of us anti-communist resistance. Even the dead from the grave would protest this monumental injustice. August 23, the European Day of Remembrance, denounces the Albanian state for not punishing the crimes of communism!/ CNA
