Fraud is detected through text messages/ Police, calls to citizens

The State Police has discovered a fraud through messages on mobile devices.

Unidentified persons send messages mainly to iPhone users and promise citizens substantial income.

As a criterion, fraudsters say that they only need to use their phone.

This scam was discovered by the State Police, which calls on citizens to report any such message, as it states that the people who send these messages intend to steal your personal data.

"From the continuous monitoring of virtual spaces, in social networks, in order to highlight illegal activities, mainly in the field of cybercrimes, the specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in DVP Tirana, have found that repeatedly, mainly users using Apple communication devices, are sent messages from different iCloud addresses via iMessage.

The recipients of these messages are promised significant income in foreign currencies, having only the use of their mobile device as a criterion, and the interested persons (authors) invite them to communicate through the "Telegram" application.

Taking into consideration that this activity, the dynamics of which is not yet completely clear, through financial enticement, may take possession of the personal data of Albanian citizens, we inform you to be careful with your data.

If you have received such a message, and you have shared your personal data, or you have been deceived by such activity, we invite you to appear at our offices as well as the police offices of Computer and Cybercrimes in the Local Police Directorates and Directorate for the Investigation of Computer and Cybercrimes in the DPSSH", says the police announcement.

We remind you that this is not the first time that unidentified persons deceive citizens through electronic means.
