The names of the 4 candidates running to head the Competition Authority are

Four candidates are officially running for the position of Chairman of the Competition Authority.

The Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Economy and Employment held a hearing with the four candidates who have applied for the position of member of the Competition Commission, who is expected to simultaneously assume the position of Chairman.

The candidates who have applied for this position are Pajtim Melani, Elidian Balla and Evis Noçka, as well as the current chairman, Denar Biba.

According to the law, the members of the Competition Commission are elected by the Assembly. One member is proposed by the President of the Republic, two members are proposed by the Council of Ministers, and two members are proposed by the Assembly.

The law provides that the members of the Commission are elected by majority vote, in the presence of more than half of all members of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, for a period of 5 years. The Assembly also appoints the Chairman of the Commission. /CNA
