Rama hosts Iftar dinner for believers: Fasting teaches man self-patience

Prime Minister Edi Rama hosted an iftar dinner for believers and other dignitaries at the Palace of Congresses today.

During his speech, Rama said that when you set the iftar table, it is the only occasion in which you are both "master of the house and a friend." Among other things, the head of government said that fasting teaches people self-patience.

"The Iftar table is the only one where you are both the one who sets the table and the one who is set. You are both the god, the leader and the friend. You are the one who gathers and is gathered. There is something more supreme that unites you, God, Allah.  Around this table, the invisible law that lives within every human being, takes possession of certain territories of the mind and soul. It becomes visible to the consciousness of everyone who gathers around the Iftar table. Fasting teaches man self-forbearance. People who come from different worlds sit together. This Iftar has a light where the external light above us and the light within us are intertwined. On a day like this, it is inevitable and the intention for the islands of conflict and hostility that people create ," Rama said. /CNA
