83rd Cycling Tour of Albania 2026/ Here are the axes that will be blocked for 5

Starting Monday, some of the country's main road axes and cities will be subject to temporary traffic restrictions.

The reason is the launch of the international sports event "83rd Cycling Tour of Albania 2026", which will take place in 5 stages, from May 18 to 22.

Teams from Albania, the Balkans and Europe participate in this event, which has forced the State Police to draft a special plan of measures to guarantee the safety of cyclists and the smooth running of the race.

The road closures will begin each day at 12:00, with the exception of the last stage which begins at 10:00. The police call on citizens and drivers to show understanding and use alternative roads, as the restrictions will affect key points of national traffic.

In the first stage, which starts on Monday at 12:00, the race will start from the centers and main roads of Tirana, then moving to the Tirana-TEG-Thumanë-Milot-Rrëshen-Reps highway axis, returning to Milot and finishing in Lezhë.

On Tuesday, also at 12:00, the Lezhë-Vorë-Golem-Rrogozhinë road axis will be completely blocked, ending in the city of Elbasan.

The third Eta Pa, which will take place on Wednesday, will bring strong restrictions on the Elbasan-Belsh-Kuçovë-Lushnjë-Fier Ring Road, to be closed later in Vlora.

On Thursday, traffic will be temporarily paralyzed on the coastal and southern axis Vlora–Llogara Tunnel–Himarë–Kuç–Lepincë–Kotë, to return to the finish line in Vlora.

The international race ends on Friday, where the traffic jams will start earlier, at 10:00, on the Vlora-Lushnja roundabout axis, while the grand finish of the race will be in the city of Fier./CNA
