Opposition rally/ Three protesters escorted by police

Today's opposition protest, which lasted for about three hours, was accompanied by clashes between police officers and citizens.

The protest included the throwing of pyrotechnics and fireworks by protesters and the use of pressurized water and tear gas by police officers.

It is reported that three protesters were escorted by police after the incidents, while three officers were injured. Unlike previous protests, the number of arrests and injuries so far is lower.

The protest began without speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office and was accompanied by calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. It then continued with a march towards the Ministry of Interior, which was not completed because it was blocked by a police cordon.

After clashes between opposition MPs and protesters with the police, citizens moved to the courtyard of the Democratic Party headquarters.

There, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha announced the closure of today's protest, which he described as a peaceful uprising, while severely condemning the police's behavior towards the protesters. /CNA
