IBAR Report on Albania/ Brussels seeks another government

DP Presidency Member Grigels Muçollari has commented on the IBAR report on Albania, emphasizing that with this report Brussels is seeking another government.

According to Muçollari, sanctioning corruption as a fundamental problem is not a blow to the DP but a slap in the face to the government and a public credit to the opposition.

Muçollari underlines that the IBAR report calls for a different government to move forward with integration and is a message to move towards a political solution, which can only come through new elections, with free and fair votes.

"With the IBAR report, Brussels is looking for another government.

Edi Rama urged the public to read the IBAR report with increased attention, after presenting it as a personal triumph over the Opposition. But, in the Prime Minister's response, there is almost nothing about integration. He only wants to say that he defeated the DP in a duel.

When you read the report, you realize that Brussels has given Albania a carrot, but the government a stick.

Sanctioning corruption as a fundamental problem is not a blow to the DP, as Edi Rama claims. It is a slap in the face to the government and a public credit to the Opposition. The report mentions all the sectors under the Prime Minister's control, where abuse and profit are made.

The same applies to the obstruction of justice and the special immunity that Edi Rama voted for in Parliament, blocking SPAK.

Are the patronage players in the elections and all the electoral violations that, according to the report, should never be repeated again — are they decorations for the government and Edi Rama?

When the report calls for free and fair elections, it is clearly saying that those of May 11 were not. Brussels is underlining that Edi Rama cannot be corrected; he only knows how to manipulate the vote.

Essentially, the IBAR report calls for a different government to move forward with integration. It is a message to move towards a political solution, which can only come through new elections, with free and fair votes.

"Any further step in integration, according to this report, excludes Edi Rama," Muçollari declares./ CNA
