The US Embassy in Tirana has released an announcement for American citizens, as the time for the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister is approaching.
The embassy asks American citizens in Albania to avoid places where the opposition will protest.
It also calls on its citizens to keep a low profile during the protest and monitor the media for developments.
"A demonstration is planned to be held on Monday, October 7. Protesters plan to gather at the Prime Minister's Office at 6:00 p.m. Increased police presence, road closures and traffic disruptions are expected. The Albanian state police have advised that protesters may block intersections in different parts of the city of Tirana. US Embassy personnel advise you to avoid the demonstration. Monitor local media and follow the instructions of local law enforcement authorities for the latest information," the US embassy said in a statement./ CNA
