Problems in the management of food service at the Regional Hospital /

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça has registered criminal proceedings for the criminal offense of 'Abuse of Office' provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code, based on information published in online media and in the investigative show "Piranjat", regarding problems in the management and organization of food service for patients at the Korça Regional Hospital.

The criminal proceedings were registered after the publication of investigative material on 11.03.2026, which referred to the findings of the audit report of the Supreme State Audit, according to which problems were identified in the management and organization of food service for patients.

Within the framework of this criminal proceeding, the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Korça ordered the performance of a series of investigative actions by judicial police officers, with the aim of fully verifying the circumstances presented in the published material, administering the relevant documentation and identifying any person who may have legal responsibility in relation to this matter.

The investigations will be carried out within the framework of the role that every public institution has regarding legal obligations to guarantee the health of patients and every citizen of the Korça District.
