Clashes at "Territorialja"/ Mazniku: Who is being held accountable,
Arbjan Mazniku

The meeting of the Special Committee for Administrative-Territorial Reform was accompanied by debates between the opposition and the majority, where the focus was on the deadlines, progress of the work, and the results of the committee so far.

During the discussions, the co-chair of the commission, Arbjan Mazniku, emphasized that the commission functions on the basis of parity between the two parties and that responsibilities for the smooth running of the process cannot be attributed to just one party.

According to Maznik, the lack of results and delays in the process have come as a result of systematic blockage by the opposition. He stated that all technical products presented so far in the commission have been proposed by the majority, while underlining that in a structure with co-leadership and an equal 8-to-8 composition, responsibilities for the agenda, work progress and results are shared.

He added that accountability for the results of the commission should be sought from all actors involved in the process and not just from one party, demanding an equal division of responsibilities in continuing the work on administrative-territorial reform.

"The lack of results and the lost time have come as a result of the systematic blockage by the opposition. Every product that has been proposed from a technical point of view has been proposed by the majority in the committee. The responsibilities for the agenda, the progress of the work, the products, their typology and number in a committee with a co-chair and a composition of 8 by 8 are shared. I do not understand who is being held accountable by only one side. You have asked for parity and parity also brings responsibility, not just words. You have come, you have spoken, you have left. We have come and we have also done some work", said Mazniku./ CNA
