POS equipment in urban areas?/ Ministry of Finance responds to Transport

The Ministry of Finance has responded to the National Association of Public Transport regarding the obligation to have POS equipment on public service buses.

Based on the document, the Ministry emphasizes that buses operating within cities are exempt from the obligation to issue and fiscalize invoices for the supplies they make.

According to the Ministry, this occurs in cases where the passenger is provided with a ticket or pass through authorized points or persons.

"It results that urban public transport operators within the city (buses), being exempt from the obligation to issue and fiscalize invoices for the supplies they make, if the ticket or subscription is given to passengers directly by the driver of the vehicle or by an authorized person, are consequently also exempt from the legal obligation to be equipped with a "POS/POI" terminal at every point of sale, in this case in every individual urban bus operating within the city," the ministry's response states. /CNA
