SPAK and Bari Anti-Mafia Operation/ Details emerge on how the Albanian criminal

A large-scale joint operation has been carried out between the Bari Anti-Mafia Directorate and the Special Prosecutor's Office for Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), with the support and coordination of Eurojust.

Italian media write that 14 security measures were issued as part of the operation, one "house arrest", three "compulsion to appear" and the rest "prison arrest".

It is reported that the security measures have been put in place as part of the investigation by the Antimafia of Bari in collaboration with SPAK, to solve the murder of Francesco Diviesti, a 26-year-old from Barletta who disappeared on April 25, 2025 and was found dead four days later in a village north of Bari.

The investigations into the murder of Diviesti also uncovered an organized criminal group based in Tirana who are suspected of international money laundering from Italy to Albania.

Meanwhile, for further details regarding the measures and the persons involved, a joint press conference will be held at the Bari Prosecutor's Office, attended by Klodjan Braho, head of SPAK; Roberto Rossi, Public Prosecutor of Bari; and Filippo Spiezia, National Member for Italy at Eurojust. /CNA
