The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, in reporting on the activities of 2024, stated to the Laws Committee that perhaps the figures are not as expected.

However, Dumani said, SPAK has taken all necessary investigative actions.

Focusing on investigative crimes, Dumani said that in this regard, a mayor has been indicted for active corruption and another is under investigation.

Dumani said that SPAK has verified every opposition claim about electoral crimes and has been on the ground for verifications whenever it has been signaled.

Further, the head of SPAK said that the institution he heads is not given time to investigate because after the denunciation, the opposition published the case in the media.

"We have registered 44 criminal proceedings. 38 proceedings remain under investigation. Perhaps these are not figures that meet expectations, but SPAK has taken all necessary investigative actions for verifications. We have taken a mayor on trial for active corruption. A case where we have seen massive corruption. We have another mayor under investigation for corruption. We are 20 prosecutors who have the duty to carry out criminal prosecutions, we are neither the State Police, nor Taxes nor Customs. We have verified every claim by the opposition, every time it has been signaled that SPAK should be on the ground. The moment you file a complaint with SPAK, as we build the work to investigate the case, we see in the media that votes are being bought in such and such a place ," said Dumani.
