The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, has reported to the Laws Committee on the 2024 activity of the institution he heads.

Dumani, in presenting the data, said that SPAK has fulfilled all the recommendations of the European Union and the Council of Ministers.

Focusing on concrete figures, the head of SPAK stated that regarding detainees, only 9.7% of the total are detained by the Special Prosecution Office.

Further, Dumnai focused on the number of prisoners from SPAK, who he said are 9.5% of the total.

The head of SPAK stated that during 2024, the Special Prosecution Office determined the measure of disqualification from exercising public functions for 53 natural and legal persons.

Further, focusing on extraditions, Dumani announced that during 2024, SPAK submitted 41 extradition requests from abroad to Albania to the Ministry of Justice.

Regarding the number of cases completed by the Special Prosecution Office, Dumani said that in 2024 there was an increase of 13%, compared to the previous year.

" Investigation of electoral crimes, in January 2025 SPAK approved the strategy for the prevention of electoral crimes. As of January 2025, the case management system has been 85% operational. This system is funded by the EU.
