The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, in the European Parliament has spoken about the issue of Vlora Airport.

Balla has stated that the fight for this airport is not an environmental issue but a competition issue.

"You have made a complaint about Vlora Airport. You should know that there was an airport a long time ago that was built by the Italians.

We need a port in the south of Albania and the fight is not about environmental issues but about competition. It is said that in Albania there should be no airport in the south and we know the reason, we need to have an airport in the south.

"We hope that next year we will be able to fly from Vlora to Strasbourg. I would propose that the meeting be held in Vlora and I would propose that they all hold a fact-finding meeting together, not to do politics, not for likes and not to share news on social media, using Albania to see what the situation is like on the ground," said Balla./ CNA
