The protest working group has reacted through a post on social media regarding the creation of the National Citizens' Assembly.
The post states that confronting the government now requires not only the continuation of protests, but also an organized and universally accepted structure to represent the demands of citizens.
The working group announces that it has begun work on organizing the National Citizens' Assembly, which, according to them, will be selected by the citizens themselves in protest and will receive their approval in a clear and verifiable manner by the people themselves.
The post also states that every citizen who has been and continues to be active in the protests has open doors and an equal place in this representation.
The protestors' working group emphasizes that the National Citizens' Assembly will belong exclusively to the protest and that no decision or action will be taken outside the will of the participating citizens.
Full announcement:
Albanian people!
Brothers and sisters!
Since May 31, we have been protesting nationally against the division and sale of the Homeland to foreigners, against the expulsion of Albanians to replace them with "enslaved" workers from poor countries in Asia and Africa, against the arrogance of power without accountability, and against the overly corrupt and incriminated political class.
We, the Albanian people, demand democracy instead of autocracy, a market economy instead of oligarchy, certified property for Albanians instead of chaos and occupation, and a state of law instead of crime with political power.
United in this unprecedented protest, we have not only resisted the rotten anti-Albanian establishment, but we have taken the first steps towards closing the transition and restoring the Western standards of a democratic state.
Confronting the regime and its byproducts today requires unity, determination, clarity, and organization. Over the centuries, Albanians have known how to self-organize and self-govern through people's assemblies.
This time has come now!
The National Protest must continue, but it must also have a broad and universally accepted direction and representation.
The people in the square are seeking the triumph of their cause with persistent, unyielding organization until the old system is dismantled, but they also demand permanent, visionary, comprehensive, and incorruptible representation of their aspirations, anger, and will, so that they can gather whenever the need arises.
We, an extended working group, an integral part of the protest since day one, have begun the work of organizing this assembly. This assembly will emerge precisely from the body of citizens in protest, on the condition that it is approved in advance, clearly and in a verifiable form by the people in protest themselves.
Confronting the regime requires unity, strategy, determination, and organization.
Every patriot, who has been and continues to be active in the protest, who accepts the condition of leaving the stage of the Rama & Berisha partnership, and fights for the territorial integrity of the country, has the doors open and an equal place in this representation!
With maximum transparency, the National Citizens' Assembly will belong only to the protest and no decision or action will be taken outside the will of this national popular protest.
