Singer Barbana Dini has reacted publicly after discussions arose regarding the failure to mention the name of her father, Dashamir Dini, during the event for the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party in Shkodra.

In her reaction, Dini states that her father was among the founders of the left in Shkodra in the 1990s and led the branch of the Socialist Party in the period after the events of 1997, emphasizing his contribution to the political and social life of the city.

She also recalls the turbulent political period of that time, saying that her family was often involved in difficult situations, while her father, according to her, tried to calm political conflicts in Shkodra.

In response, the singer criticizes the lack of appreciation for early political figures, emphasizing that their contribution is often forgotten during official activities.

The singer has given the medal of ingratitude to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the current mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, and Minister Enea Karakaçi, as a message for the lack of appreciation of her father's contribution to the Socialist Party and Shkodra.

"In respect of the messages I have received about why the name of the co-founder of the Socialist Party in the '90s and its Chairman in the most difficult years after '97, Dashamir Dini, my father, was not mentioned at the event held for the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party in the Shkodra Castle, I must say that:

I am almost the same age as my father's party and, therefore, a unique witness to his contribution. I remember it like it was today when the people of the Socialist Party, frightened by the events of the time, would come to take shelter in our house. We, as young as we were, were afraid that our father's friends were coming to take us away, while he declared that Shkodra was above every party and every party leader, and ran to reconcile political disputes.

How can these be forgotten?

When I see lists compiled with short memories and truncated respect, I wonder how many of those who make decisions have been there, in times when courage and not just presence were needed.

The medal was given to him long ago by the citizens of Shkodra, among whom he lived and never left, the city for which he worked, wrote, fought and gave everything he had until the last day of his life.

He was the Chairman of the Socialist Party of Shkodra at a time when even thinking about it was heresy. He was a writer, poet, journalist and, above all, a citizen. A man who never used his city as a springboard, but as a mission.

There are absences that no ceremony can cover, and forgetfulness that says more about those who forget than about those who are left out.

So today, in the name of the struggle of one life and many other lives neglected by medal dispensers, I am sharing a medal with you: THE MEDAL OF INGRATERATION (choose between you whether you want Gold or Bronze).

Your medals will rust, while those men will shine ever brighter with the citizenship and dedication with which they irrigated this city.
