The Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, was present at the National Conference on the Interaction of Justice with the Media.

In his speech, the ambassador focused on Albania's EU membership and the role of justice. Gonzato said that the role of magistrates in this path becomes increasingly important, as they are the ones who will guarantee the implementation of the law. The EU ambassador stated that institutions are not created only by laws, but also require a change in mindset.

Further in his speech, the ambassador stated that the independence of justice must be embodied not only through laws, but also through professional behavior and moral leadership.

" As Albania moves forward in its EU accession, the role of magistrates becomes even more important. You will be the ones who will take measures to ensure that the law is respected and implemented. Institutions are not created only by laws, but also require a change in culture, I am not yet convinced that this change in mindset has been achieved. You must embody the culture of judicial independence not only with laws, but also with professional behavior and moral leadership ," said Gonzato.
