Exclusive/ Arrests of Interior Ministry officials are expected

The Ministry of Interior seems to be involved in a series of scandals, most recently with the purchase of a luxury BMW, bought for the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj at the height of the pandemic. The vehicle was purchased by the State Police, to be put at the service of the Minister, for whom neither the State Police nor the General Directorate of Road still bring public documents, in accordance with the law. So they continue to keep them confidential.

According to the data provided by CNA.al, which can be easily found with a simple internet search, where it can be seen that the BMW model bought by the minister costs 100 million Lek. While the minister says that he bought it for 50.000 euros.

But in fact, at the moment that CNA.al published the scandal in question, the vehicle was not cleared through customs and circulated with fake license plates. According to data available CNA.al, the car have been on behalf of institutions under the Ministry of Interior, the State Police and the Republican Guard.

But, another bigger scandal seems to have accompanied the Ministry of Interior, after Friday?s departure of the Secretary General, Plarent Ndreca. It seems that everything doesn?t start and doesn?t end simply with the purchase of a luxury car, at the height of a pandemic crisis and after the catastrophic earthquake of November 26, 2019.

But there are also some tenders conducted by this institution, on which there are expected to be arrests of senior officials, following investigations conducted by the SPAK.

CNA.al has learned from confidentially sources, that one of the most corrupted files and problematic institution of the Ministry of Interior in the tender of clothing, delivered in SPAK by opposition MP, Myslim Murrizi. MP Murrizi submitted the report to SPAK on August 3, 2020. According to Murrizi, this tender was given to an excavation company, and therefore should be investigated. While on July 29, in the parliamentary session, Murrizi said:?On July 14, the Ministry of Interior has made a tender of 23 million euros for the police uniforms, a tender launched a year ago, stuck in the gears of corruption.

In the competition participated three companies. The Turkish company offered 4.2 million euros less, and the winner was announced the company DE, which according to the register of the National Business Center deals with excavations and trade exchanges.

CNA.al that the investigation has deepened, and some officials are involved in the scandal of this file.
Now it seems that Sander Lleshaj, in addition to the problem of buying the vehicle and the public debate, where it is justified that the car is not his, and it costs only 50.000 euros, must publicly explain how his subordinates have conducted a scandalous tender steeped in corruption, and that already are waiting for handcuffs from SPAK./CNA.al
