Sergio Busquets has announced that he will retire from professional football at the end of this season in Major League Soccer.

The Spanish midfielder, currently at Inter Miami, joined the club in 2023 after a long career with Barcelona. He made 722 appearances for the Catalans, winning 9 La Liga titles, 7 Copa del Reys and 3 Champions Leagues.

With 481 La Liga appearances, he was part of the famous midfield triangle with Xavi and Iniesta. He is also the player with the most appearances in El Clasico, with 48 against Real Madrid.

On the international stage, Busquets played 143 times for Spain, winning the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. After moving to the US, he helped Inter Miami win the League Cup.

The 37-year-old will end his career in the MLS Playoffs, leaving behind an important legacy in modern soccer.
