OFFICIAL/ Expected at Milan, Thiago Silva surprises everyone with the new team

Thiago Silva is officially a new Porto player. The Portuguese club confirmed the deal through its official channels, announcing that the Brazilian defender has signed a contract until the end of the current season, with an option to extend for the following season.

For Silva, it is a return to Portugal, as he had been part of Porto before, during a short period in the 2004–2005 season.

Negotiations have been concluded in a short time, with Porto leaders significantly accelerating actions in recent hours.

Milan were also in the running for Thiago Silva's services. The Brazilian defender played for the Red and Blacks from 2009 to 2012, a period in which he won a Serie A championship and the Italian Super Cup.

His return to Milan was a desire of coach Massimiliano Allegri, who had him under his management during his first experience at Milan and considered him an important profile for the team, not only for his technical qualities, but also for his influence in the dressing room.

However, Milan's management decided not to pursue this option further, choosing to invest in other alternatives. In this way, Porto took advantage of the situation and managed to close the deal.
