The Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Federation has approved the decision to create a special financial support program for professional football clubs, following the commitment made at the General Assembly and in order to strengthen the sustainability of the football system in the country.

This decision comes as a result of the significant strengthening of the AFF's financial position over recent years, thanks to sporting successes, increased commercial income, more efficient cost management and better use of the opportunities offered by the market.

The positive financial result created gives the federation the opportunity to return a portion of this income directly to football, through structured support of member clubs.

The program, with a total value of 3 million euros for 2026, will be dedicated to professional clubs participating in the Abissnet Superiore and the First Category.

The support will be institutionalized, structured and predictable, aiming for the financial success of the Albanian Football Association to be tangibly reflected in the clubs, which constitute the basis of the Albanian football system.

The distribution of the fund will be carried out in two phases, in line with the sporting phases of the championships: the second phase of the 2025–26 season and the first phase of the 2026–27 season. The distribution is based solely on the category in which the club plays, not on the sporting ranking, and is done equally within each category.

Clubs in the Abissnet Superiores benefit from a higher amount compared to those in the First Category, in proportion to the higher sporting and organizational costs at this level.

The funds will be disbursed in two installments, with the first part being distributed at the beginning of 2026 to support clubs' liquidity and planning for the remainder of the season, while the second installment will be released after the end of the 2025–26 season and the determination of the championship structure for the 2026–27 season.

The program aims to create a clear, transparent and sustainable mechanism for the financial support of clubs, strengthening their stability and the partnership between the Albanian Football Association and the clubs on the principles of solidarity and good financial management. The distribution of this fund to the clubs will officially start in January 2026.
