Winter champion declared, figures give Egnatia the "title"

Being declared the winter champion in the Superiore significantly increases the chances of winning the championship title at the end of the season.

In the last ten seasons, seven of the ten teams that have finished the first two stages at the top of the standings have been declared champions of Albania. Egnatia currently leads the Superiore after the victory over Teuta and aims to maintain this position.

Since the 2015–2016 season, teams that have started the championship strongly have often managed to triumph, such as Skënderbeu, Kukësi and Partizan. Two years ago, Egnatia was the winter champion and won the first title in history. However, there have been exceptions to this trend.

Last season, Dinamo was declared the winter champion, but the title was won by Egnatia. In several other seasons, the winter champion has not emerged victorious in the end.
