Real Madrid makes sensational decision, boycott is official

Real Madrid has decided for the second consecutive year not to participate in the "Ballon d'Or" ceremony, which will take place in Paris.

The decision was made official by president Florentino Perez and communicated to the club's management. This boycott follows last year, when the Madrid team reacted strongly to Vinicius Junior's second-place finish.

Although several Real Madrid players are nominated this year, including Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, none are seen as favorites for the award.

International media outlets are reporting that Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal are the closest contenders for the prestigious award. Real Madrid's decision is seen as a continuation of their criticism of the way the winners are selected.

For the moment, it remains clear that no representative of the Spanish club will be part of the ceremony.
