Serbian media reports that Serbia risks a two-year ban if the October 11 match against Albania in Leskovac is accompanied by serious unrest.
Such a move would lead to exclusion from future qualifiers, which would be a blow to Serbian football. To avoid incidents, the match was moved from Belgrade to Leskovac and there will be no free ticket sales. They will only be distributed to controlled persons, such as members of associations or children of academies.
The Serbian Federation has taken these measures after fearing a repeat of the events of 2014, when the match against Albania was abandoned and the victory was decided for the Rossoneri. For the smooth running of this match, numerous police forces will be deployed and Albanian fans will be absent. The match has been classified as having a high security risk and will also be monitored by two FIFA officers.
