OFFICIAL/ The loss in the derby brings consequences, Partizan's sports

Arbër Abilaliaj has resigned as Partizan's sports director, following the 3-0 derby loss to Tirana.

His decision is related to the responsibility for building the team during the summer transfer window, which did not yield the expected results.

The resignation was communicated by Abilaliaj himself through a post on social media, where he thanked the club, players, staff and fans.

He emphasized that he has given everything for the red colors and that Partizan has been more than a job for him. Abilaliaj was appointed sports director in July 2023 and has often covered the role of coach in transition periods.

After more than two years in this position, the 39-year-old is ending his cooperation with the club. His decision is expected to bring other changes to the Partizan structure.

Today a very important chapter of my professional life closes.

After several years full of emotions, challenges, responsibilities and unforgettable moments, I have decided to step down from my position as Partizan's sports director.

This club has never been just a workplace for me, but a home, a feeling that has accompanied and shaped me, a part of my identity.

I gave everything I had, with passion, dedication, and true love for these colors.

I thank the players I have shared every day with, the technical staff, the club's collaborators and above all the Partizan fans, who are the heart of this team. Without you, nothing would make sense.

Every journey has its end, but the memories and feelings that Partizan has given me will always remain within me.
