2 billion euro offer to buy Napoli, De Laurentiis makes the decision

Aurelio De Laurentiis has rejected a €2 billion offer from a group of American investors to buy a majority stake in Napoli.

The offer was brokered by Matt Rizzetta, president of the Napoli basketball team, and envisioned major infrastructure investments for the Italian club. The project included the construction of a modern sports center and other long-term developments for the team.

However, Napoli's president decided not to give up control of the club he bought in 2004. Napoli's current value is estimated at around 1.1 billion euros, much lower than the offer submitted by American investors.

Contacts between the parties have continued for several months, but De Laurentiis has not changed his position, especially on the eve of the club's 100th anniversary on August 1, 2026. After this decision, the club's main priorities remain the selection of a new coach after the departure of Antonio Conte and the project to build a new stadium. The Napoli president has made it clear that he does not plan to sell the club in the near future.
