OFFICIAL/ Manchester United decides on coach

Manchester United have renewed the contract of Michael Carrick, following positive results achieved in the second half of the season.

The 44-year-old coach took charge of the team at a difficult moment and managed to secure qualification for the Champions League. Under his leadership, the “Red Devils” played 16 official matches, recording 11 wins, 3 draws and only 2 losses against Leeds United and Newcastle.

The English club confirmed that Carrick has signed a new two-year contract, with the option to extend for a further season. The decision was also approved by owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who supported the continuation of the project with the former England midfielder.

The board praised the stability and results the team achieved during Carrick's time in charge as interim manager. The Englishman will now be responsible for building the team for next season.
