Kosovo wins against Albania U-19, special decision on penalties

Albania U-19 lost 0-1 in their friendly match with Kosovo, a match held as part of the triangular tournament organized by the Football Federation at the “House of Football”. Although the team led by coach Julian Ahmataj had the opportunity to come out with a positive result, a goal scored by Medjen Llumnica in the 74th minute gave Kosovo the victory.

The Reds played a good first half, having the opportunity to take the lead in the 18th minute after a penalty awarded in their favor. The teams did not understand the referees' decision and captain Huqi decided that in order to maintain the spirit of fair play, he would not take the penalty and simply passed the ball to the goalkeeper.

A few minutes before the end of the first half, coach Ahmataj made four substitutions, bringing on Mateo Dash, Rikardo Sheji, Fabian Nuhaj and Gabriel Kulla in place of Shpuza, B. Krasniqi, Avdulari and Nuredin. The first half ended with a score of 0-0.

At the start of the second half, the Red and Black coach made another substitution, bringing on Llanën for Leart Krasniqi. Kosovo took the lead in the 74th minute thanks to a goal scored by Medjen Llumnica. The Red and Blacks tried several moves, but were unable to finish. The match ended with a 0-1 victory for Kosovo.

This triangular tournament, held under the auspices of the Football Federation, was attended by representatives from Albania, Kosovo and Moldova. These meetings served as a good test for the red and black team, as part of preparations for the qualifying campaign for the European Championship 2025.
