Four candidates for the Italy bench

The Italian Football Federation is entering the decisive phase for the selection of the new national team coach, with president Giovanni Malago and technical director Paolo Maldini, assisted by Leonardo, having begun final contacts.

According to the latest information, the list of candidates has been narrowed down to four main names. Andrea Pirlo is considered one of the most valued alternatives due to his profile and playing ideas. Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini, two coaches with significant experience in Italian football, also remain in the race.

Another name being discussed is Pep Guardiola, although this option is considered more difficult to implement. The selection of the new coach will be made in full cooperation between the federation leaders and the technical sector.

On July 23, Malago, Maldini and Leonardo will present the new national team project at Lega Calcio. By that date, the new Italy coach for the cycle until the 2030 World Cup is also expected to be official.
