Ninth career final, De La Fuente continues to amaze

Luis de la Fuente continues to make history with the Spanish national team, having secured "La Roja"'s qualification for the World Cup final.

The Spanish coach will be in charge of the ninth final of his career at various levels of the Spanish national team. So far, he has won six trophies and lost only two finals, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to Brazil in extra time and the last Nations League final to Portugal on penalties.

His successes began in 2015 with the Spanish U-19 European title after a 2-0 victory over Russia. In 2018 he won the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with a 3-2 victory over Italy, while in 2019 he triumphed in the U-21 European Championship against Germany with a score of 2-1.

In 2023, he won the Nations League with the first national team and a year later lifted the European Championship trophy after winning the final against England.

Now the 64-year-old is just one match away from the World Cup trophy, the greatest success of his coaching career.
