Modric's signature almost ready, Milan prepare for another departure

Luka Modric seems determined to continue his career for at least another season with Milan.

The Croatian midfielder has begun talks with the club over a new contract, after the option to extend the agreement until 2027 with a salary of 3.5 million euros expired on June 30. Coach Amorim has expressed his desire to have Modric part of his technical project and has guaranteed him an important role in the team.

The parties are discussing a one-year contract with bonuses linked to the number of appearances and minutes played. In the meantime, the Croatian is on vacation and could join the team directly for the summer tour in Australia.

At the same time, Aston Villa are looking to sign Pervis Estupina following Digne's departure to PSG. Milan are asking around €17m to €18m for the Ecuadorian defender, while the English club's current offer is between €10m and €12m.

Unai Emery considers Estupinan an important target, having worked with him previously at Villarreal.
