Champions League final, two stadiums in the running

UEFA has announced that Barcelona's Camp Nou and London's Wembley will compete to host the 2029 Champions League final.

After the deadline for submitting bids, Spain and England were left with the only two candidates for the most prestigious night of European football. Wembley has a rich history, having hosted seven finals, including the 2024 final and Barcelona's triumph in 2011.

On the other hand, the Camp Nou has hosted two finals before, including the memorable 1999 final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich. The Catalan stadium is currently undergoing renovations, with the aim of offering modern facilities and increased capacity.

Barcelona also aims to host the 2030 World Cup final. UEFA will assess the infrastructure, access and experience that each facility can offer.

The final decision is expected to be made in the coming months, while the Allianz Arena is already confirmed for the 2028 final.
