Euro 2028, UEFA reveals stadiums

Wembley Stadium in London will host the final of the 2028 European Championship, which will be played on July 9. The tournament will open on June 9 at Cardiff Stadium in Wales. The championship will be held in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with 24 participating teams and a total of 51 matches.

The matches will be held in nine stadiums in eight cities: London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

The official launch ceremony took place in London, with the presence of UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, while outside there was a small protest regarding Israel's involvement in UEFA activities.

According to an independent study, Euro 2028 is expected to generate around £3.6 billion in economic benefits for host countries.

UEFA has confirmed that the national teams of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will participate in the qualifiers, with two places guaranteed to the organizers in the event of non-qualification.

Meanwhile, the draw for the qualifying phase will be held on December 6, 2026 in Belfast.
