OFFICIAL/ Mancini returns to the bench, signs with the new team

Roberto Mancini is officially the new coach of Al Sadd in Qatar. The Italian technician has signed a contract for two and a half years, with a salary of around 5 million euros net per season.

His main objective is to qualify for the final stage of the Asian Champions League and return the club to trophies, which have been missing for almost 15 years.

His staff will also include two former Serie A players, Massimo Maccarone and Cesar. Mancini accepted the offer from Qatar after the possibilities of a return to Italy, where he had been rumored to be on the bench of Juventus and Atalanta, did not materialize.

There had also been contact with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, but negotiations did not progress.
