Unexpected / President resigns from the big English club

Daniel Levy has resigned as Tottenham chairman after 25 years at the helm of the club. The decision came as a surprise but follows months of criticism and protests from fans over his management style.

Under his leadership, Tottenham transformed into a global brand, reaching the Champions League final in 2019 and winning the Europa League this year.

One of the greatest achievements of his tenure is the construction of the new modern stadium “Tottenham Hotspur Stadium”. Despite the success, fans have often criticized him for his lack of trophies and transfer policy.

Levy said he was proud of the work he had done and would continue to support the club as a fan. Peter Charrington will take over his duties in the interim, while Vinai Venkatesham, former Arsenal chief executive, has been appointed CEO. The change marks a new chapter for the London club.
