The Police of Korça celebrated today January 13, the 112th anniversary of the establishment of this institution, with the participation of the leaders of all police structures, the leaders of the district municipalities, representatives of other law enforcement institutions, representatives of religious communities and beyond.

During today's activity, certificates of appreciation were awarded to employees and former police employees who for years have given and are giving their contribution to help the community, for maintaining security, protecting the citizen and holding people who commit criminal offenses to account.

In his speech, the director of DVP Korccë, Director Erion Ahmeti, said that this is a very special day for those who wear the honorable uniform of the State Police, stressing that this institution is among the most trusted by citizens.

"It is a special day for all of us, who wear the honorable uniform of the State Police and for every citizen who believes in the values ??of freedom, security and justice. The pride is that this institution is among the most trusted by the citizens and our commitment remains to increase and improve this trust.

112 years ago, the foundations of the State Police were laid by brave men and women who understood that without order and security, there cannot be a free and just society.

Korça, with its rich history and traditions, has always had a special place in this journey. The police of this district, where I had the good fortune to serve even before taking the position as Local Director, has been an example of dedication, professionalism and close connection with the community.

We are proud to continue to uphold this legacy. But without a doubt, it is the contribution of all the institutions with which we cooperate closely and the outstanding civic role of this region."

Among other things, Ahmeti has shown the biggest challenges of the State Police, including that of Korcca, mentioning here dealing with crime and illegal traffic, guaranteeing security and preventing road accidents. Ahmeti thanked all the police officers, reminding them that the police is not an institution of force but hope and trust for the community.

"Challenges for the State Police, including the Korca Police, remain anyway, from dealing with crime and illegal traffic, to guaranteeing security at major events, creating a calm and safe environment for every citizen, but also preventing road incidents, which are an increased concern at certain times of the year.

Faced with these challenges, we have shown that cooperation, dedication and goodwill can make the difference.

Today, I want to thank each and every uniformed employee for the work and daily sacrifices they make to ensure order and safety. This is not just a duty, but a noble mission.

112 years later, we not only honor those who served before us, but take inspiration from their work to build an even better future.
