December offers a holiday in Shkodër

Shkodra has turned into a headline of the celebrations on the eve of the change of years, attracting many visitors who enjoy the special atmosphere.

Citizens from Shkodra, but also tourists and visitors, say that Shkodra looks wonderful these days, and the atmosphere is special.

"From Tirana. I love the atmosphere, the people, everything. Something different, normally you feel the spirit of the holidays for Christmas and New Year", said one of them.

I've been in Albania for more than a month and I've traveled everywhere, and Shkodra is my favorite city so far, that's why I decided to move here. I am an Army veteran and I love this city. This is the most amazing Christmas fair I have ever seen. We have some great Christmas-themed events in the United States, but nothing like this. It's really incredible, some people are wonderful, they're warm and kind, and I'm just blessed to be in this city and to be here in this environment. So I thank everyone here and encourage every person to come and visit. It's wonderful here.”

These are just some of the comments of tourists and locals about the festive atmosphere in Shkodër.

Renato Lumci, director of tourism in the Municipality of Shkodër, states that, according to the contacts of the Municipality of Shkodër with hotels, accommodation structures and restaurants, reservations for the night of the change of years are almost closed, showing a great interest in this destination.

"We all know that Shkodra is the headline for the atmosphere of the end of the year. The end of the year is already coming and it has reached its peak. In cooperation with tourist operators, hotels, restaurants, in the daily communication we have with them, they tell us that there is an increased demand, especially from Christmas to the end of the year. The reservations are almost closed, most of them are Albanians, but there are also Albanians from Kosovo. But there are also foreigners who have come to Shkodra to spend the end of the year holidays. This year Shkodra is better than years, so it is the headline of all Albania for the atmosphere created by the many concerts in the square but also the good cooperation that the tour operators have had with each other. Except in the center, the operators have tried all over Shkodër to offer, in addition to authentic products, live music in every restaurant. So everywhere there is something that tourists or locals can find to have a good time in Shkodër", he said.

Festive lighting, music and the participation of well-known artists in the country and numerous activities have transformed this public space into an attraction for all age groups.
