Holidaymakers endangered/ Two rubber boats blocked in Vlora, drivers punished

Two rubber boats that have been sailing near the coast and endangering vacationers on Potami Beach and "Hidrovori Beach" have been blocked by the police. According to information, the police have also fined the drivers of the boats.

On Potami beach, the dinghy was found floating close to the shore, and was later blocked by police on Drimadhe beach. The driver, citizen HL, was fined 500,000 lek.

Meanwhile, the driver of the dinghy stranded in the area called "Hidrovori Beach", citizen E.Sh, was fined 510,000 lek. Further verifications revealed that this citizen did not have on board the documentation required by law.

Police announcement:

DVKM Vlora/Controls, verifications and immediate response to any citizen's indications, with the major objective of guaranteeing maritime safety.

Vacationers who risked their lives by sailing near the coast and without documentation on board, in Potam and on "Hidrovori Beach", are punished with fines of 500,000 and 510,000 lek.

Floating vehicles (rafts) are also blocked.

-Immediately after the notification that a vehicle (dinghy) was found floating near the coast, on the beach of Potami, the services of the DVKM Vlora organized the work to identify and punish its driver. The vehicle was located on the beach of Drimadha and blocked. Meanwhile, its driver, citizen HL, was fined 500,000 lek.

-During patrols along the entire coastline in the jurisdiction of the Vlora DVKM, another floating vehicle (dinghy) was observed moving near the shore, in the area called “Hidrovorit Beach”. The vehicle was stopped and blocked, while its driver, citizen E. Sh., was fined 510,000 lek. Further verifications revealed that this citizen did not have on board the documentation required by law.

Patrolling continues throughout the maritime space of the Vlora region.

The State Police invites citizens, vacationers and visitors to immediately report any illegality that violates maritime and public safety in general, and guarantees that the reaction will be immediate and in accordance with the law. / CNA
