Special Christmas in Korça/ The city is filled with tourists

On this day marked for the Orthodox believers, they have congratulated all Korcharians and Albanians around the world. Korça celebrates Christmas in a special way, following the tradition of traditional cooking where meat is the main thing as well as the sweets that accompany every table.

The ladies of the corsairs have wished for a merry Christmas and a prosperous year after attending mass in the city's Cathedral.

Among other things, they have shown how they will celebrate today in their families, preparing traditional dishes and hosting friends.

"I wish not only the citizens of Korça, but all of Albania, Merry Christmas, a happy and healthy year. The people of Korça celebrate Christmas very well, they do all the customs we have. We make roast lamb, salads, things, and we have a great time. We have a family table."

"Merry Christmas, with the love of children and all people. Now we have lunch, we made pork chops, baklava dessert."

"I made turkey with guns, it is traditional and inherited from our family, this is how we celebrate it every year. We have bread with chickpeas, sweets and everything good that the Albanian family enjoys on this special day. We had friends last night, they came to us from Saranda, France and we spent a very nice evening."

The special feature of Korça in this holiday is the presence of foreign tourists. The family from Venezuela chose Korca for the end of the year holidays, while the head of the family says that she is enjoying her stay in the city.

"It's our first time, we arrived yesterday and had a nice Christmas. We went to the old bazaar, had lunch there. We tried Korcca's cuisine, bread, salad, pasta and sweets. The cathedral is very beautiful, we saw many people entering the church. We are actually Catholics, not Orthodox, but this is a very nice experience. We will stay here for 13 days, we are the whole family with 10 people, we have a companion who enables us to guide. We are enjoying it very much. We will go for a walk today, and later we will go to the mountain for the snow."

Christmas brings together not only the citizens of Korça, but also tourists inside and outside the country, who will celebrate all day today in the company of their family members and friends./ CNA
