Disabled people in Korça face delays/ The reward promised by the government is not distributed

The reward granted by the government for the disabled and their companions of 150 thousand old lek, could not be distributed in the city of Korcce, which has brought dissatisfaction to the people who have this status.

Since yesterday, the latter have gone to the Albanian Post Office to receive the bonus, but this institution has directed them to the city hall, saying that they have not been sent the lists of beneficiaries.

The same situation has been created today near both institutions, where disabled people have been waiting in line to receive the promised bonus, but they have still not been able to benefit from it.

"Since yesterday, we went to the post office to receive the bonus and they told us we will give it at 2 o'clock. Then they told us we will give it tomorrow at 8 o'clock in the morning. Now they tell us that the lists have not arrived. We feel very disappointed. Go to the municipality, they tell us, the municipality says we sent them."

On this day, when it is expected that there will be a celebration in every family in Korca and beyond, it seems that the New Year's Eve table will not be as it was originally intended.

One of the disabled women shows that she feels quite disappointed about this harassment that has been happening to her for the last two days, while she expresses regret that she will not be able to celebrate this dinner.

"We came yesterday, they told us you will take it in an hour. We waited and they didn't give it to us. We came again today, they told us in half an hour they will throw it away. We were staying there (at the post office) and we were forced to come here (to the municipality). We We don't have it. How are we going to celebrate it? We are very disappointed. The rewards have been given to us, we have children invalids at home, we have left them there while we wait."

One of the representatives of the disabled group, after communicating with the mayor, has announced that the problem of this situation lies in the treasury department where the entire fund has been placed, but they can be withdrawn only after 24 hours.

"The mayor explained to me that they have given them as money to the treasury department, but the latter, due to the system that is too long after 24 hours, it is not possible to give them the money today. It remains to be received after the New Year. "

On this day of celebration, it seems that the disabled will not be able to celebrate like everyone else, waiting for the next day to receive the bonus decided by the government for them. /CNA
