Voting on the $302 million agreement/ DP boycotts the session

The DP has decided not to be part of the session expected to be held at 3:00 PM in the Assembly where the $302 million defense agreement with the US is expected to be voted on.

The DP is in favor of the agreement and expresses gratitude, but opposes the way the government will vote on this agreement without it being read by MPs.

According to the DP, this is an unconstitutional act. The announcement emphasizes that the text of the agreement should first be placed before the deputies and then voted on July 31.

"We have proposed that the agreement be approved, in compliance with constitutional deadlines, in the plenary session of Friday, July 31, 2026," the announcement states, among other things./ CNA
