The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated in the conference "From influencers to decision-makers", organized today by the DP. Berisha stated that the issue of the role of women and gender equality are fundamental to human rights.

He described the situation of women and girls in Albania today as dramatic, because according to him, our country is ruled by a drug regime. He added that Albanian women and girls are the worst paid in the Balkans. According to the leading democrat, this is due to the current government.

"The issue of the role of women and gender equality is a fundamental issue of human rights. The current situation of women and girls in Albania is dramatic, as is the situation of Albanian society. But those who pay the highest price are women and girls. After all, Albania is the only country ruled by a narco-regime, where drugs and crime rule. In our government, we have made important steps in the battle for equality. We managed to narrow the wage gap between men and women and girls to 17.8%. They became the best paid in the region. This achievement was quickly reversed and now they are the worst paid in the Balkans. The life of women and girls in a narco-dictatorship is full of drama," Berisha said./CNA
